Radical agenda lies behind the Yes campaign.

PARENTS should be worried that if the Yes vote wins and the Commonwealth government legislates to change the definition of marriage. Parents with school-age children should be especially concerned.
Politicians such as Labor’s Bill Shorten and Penny Wong and the Coalition’s Simon Birmingham and Christopher Pyne say “trust us, all will be well”, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Former PM John Howard is correct to be ringing the warning bell. Once marriage no longer involves a woman and a man, nothing will stop those committed to a radical, Marxist inspired LGBTQI agenda from forcing their beliefs on families and society.
In this brave new world of gender and sexual fluidity, where anyone can self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or intersex, those committed to a traditional view of marriage for religious or conscientious reasons will be especially at risk.
Make no mistake. If the definition of marriage is exploded it will open a Pandora’s box that will restrict and punish those who believe gender is binary and that heterosexual relationships are the norm on the basis that about 98 per cent of Australians identify as male or female. And schools, especially faith-based schools, will suffer most.
Policies of the Greens Party and the Australian Labor Party are committed to removing the current exceptions and exemptions to anti-discrimination laws that give schools control over who they employ.
The Greens Party is also committed to the Safe Schools program, the one designed by Roz Ward who argues “Marxism offers both the hope and the strategy needed to create a world where human sexuality, gender and how we relate to our bodies can blossom in extraordinary new and amazing ways”.
In Victoria, the Safe Schools program will be compulsory as of next year for all government schools and the resources available on the program’s website clearly push a radical, cultural-left gender and sexuality view.
If SSM is legalised then parents should expect that the Safe Schools program will, once again, go national and impact on all schools, religious and secular.
And what parents should understand is that those committed to forcing a cultural-left, LGBTQI agenda on schools have been active for many years.
In 1995 the Australian Association for the Teaching of English, which supports the Safe Schools program, in its journal English in Australia argued that students should be taught to recognise “the various ways in which gender categories are tied to an oppressive binary structure for organising the social and cultural practices of adolescent boys and girls”.
According to the AATE, traditional fairytales like Cinderella and plays like Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet are politically incorrect as they reinforce traditional views about being male or female.
The Australian Education Union, also supporters of the Safe Schools program, in its 2003 Policy on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender People argues that GLBT people must be allowed to marry, that all staff must be “inserviced in homophobia and transphobia” and that the school curriculum must normalise “homosexuality and bisexuality”.
Neither the AATE nor the AEU entertain the idea that parents and others in the community might disagree with their gender and sexuality policies and that they have an obligation
to present alternative points of view.
Overseas examples where same-sex marriage has been legalised provide further evidence of the dangers of changing the marriage act.
In England, a Christian school has been criticised by inspectors for not teaching the government mandated views about gender diversity and difference. And a London Jewish primary school was threatened with closure for not teaching the “correct” view about gender fluidity and gender reassignment.
While in Canada, a Christian parent is facing court action for wanting to take his son out of sex education classes that promote same-sex marriage.

Every child comes from and needs BOTH a mother and a father. Same-sex "marriage" intentionally keeps either a mother or a father from the child. Government should protect the child through upholding traditional marriage.
There is “a time to be silent, and a time to speak”. (Ecclesiastes 3:7). Now is the time to speak, so please speak up and defend children, truth and freedom. Craig Manners

True marriage offers true equality for children. Every child comes from and needs BOTH a Mum and a Dad. Every human being has dignity and deserves respect. All sorts of relationships can be respected at law without having to change marriage laws. In fact that has been the case legally for many years. The simple fact remains though that not every relationship is marriage.
