Right now is a critical time in the debate about changing the definition of marriage.
Yesterday the Labor Party rejected the opportunity for a vote of the people, denying all Australians a voice in this incredibly important issue.
Bill Shorten claims that ordinary Australians don’t have the right to vote on the definition of marriage — we must stop him from silencing the Australian public.
Millions of Australians support the current definition of marriage and every one of them deserves a say; we must continue to fight for the silent majority.
The Turnbull Government was successfully elected with a promise to allow a plebiscite, and Bill Shorten continues to reject your right to have your voice heard on this important issue. Just three years ago, Bill Shorten publicly supported a people’s vote on redefining marriage but now tells us that “this country does not have the right” to a plebiscite. It’s clear the Labor Party does not respect the voice of the Australian people.
The coming weeks and months will see the Labor Party, Greens, and LGTBI activists pressure the Turnbull Government for a parliamentary vote to change the definition of marriage. Together, we need to keep up the fight to ensure that every Australian’s voice is heard.
We need your support now more than ever to defend the current definition of marriage.
Please help strengthen the fight to ensure that the Australian people get a say: join me in supporting Marriage Alliance. Your support will help build a coalition of organisations across Australia that will fight against redefining marriage by talking with people about the potential consequences of redefining marriage, and advocating for your rights and freedoms as an Australian.
Every child comes from and needs BOTH a mother and a father. Same-sex "marriage" intentionally keeps either a mother or a father from the child. Government should protect the child through upholding traditional marriage.
There is “a time to be silent, and a time to speak”. (Ecclesiastes 3:7). Now is the time to speak, so please speak up and defend children, truth and freedom. Craig Manners
“What the world needs most is a voice that courageously speaks the truth, not when the world is right, but a voice that speaks the truth when the world is wrong.” Fulton Sheen
True marriage offers true equality for children. Every child comes from and needs BOTH a Mum and a Dad. Every human being has dignity and deserves respect. All sorts of relationships can be respected at law without having to change marriage laws. In fact that has been the case legally for many years. The simple fact remains though that not every relationship is marriage.
