Please send Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull an email without delay and ask him politely to keep his promise to allow the people to decide this foundational issue. You could also write to all Liberal and Coalition MPs and Senators too:
Now is not the time to shrink back in the face of adversity. Let us rise with courage, faith and boldness to stand up for the very institution which serves as the bedrock of healthy societies, happy families and hopeful futures.
Here is a sample email for you to put in your own words:
Please do not be bullied by members who have shown themselves to be disloyal to the party, and in defiance of the Prime Minister, the Government and the Australian people.
Holding a plebiscite which has been promised to us will NOT precipitate Labor into power. On the contrary caving into the demands of these radicals will alienate the voter base of the Liberal Party, which, like it or not, is decidedly conservative. Votes will flow to Senator Bernardi’s Conservative Party and to One Nation, resulting in a Labor victory. There is evidence that a clear majority want a plebiscite, and we do not take kindly to having an election promise broken.
A claim of “exemptions” for religious celebrants is not to be trusted, and is an insult to secular celebrants and all those concerned with weddings, such as florists, caterers and photographers. There is abundant evidence worldwide of the consequences for such unfortunate persons, who are heavily fined for “discrimination”, forced out of their employment and even imprisoned. Do not let this happen in Australia.
For Australia's children's sake please protect the institution of marriage.
Every child comes from and needs BOTH a mother and a father. Same-sex "marriage" intentionally keeps either a mother or a father from the child. Government should protect the child through upholding traditional marriage.
Please Speak Up Australia. Defend children and freedom. Say NO to the proposition to change marriage laws.
